One High-Sec Data Site

Guristas Info Shard
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system – Planet VI
Caldari Navy Assembly Plant Station

11 September YC 128

Although I agreed to play Aura’s little tarot game, I was not in a rush to act on it. I spent two weeks continuing my leisurely lifestyle, all the while coming to terms with the necessity to undock and do something capsuleer-y. I had a lingering suspicion that Aura rigged the game and invented the easiest possible task just to get me out of the station. On the other hand, she had told me that cups meant high-sec before I drew the card. Hmm…

It happened on Friday evening. I was about to go to my favourite Voidwatcher bar when the monotony of my vegetable existence finally caught up with me. I looked at the club suit that I was going to wear, put it back into the wardrobe and reached for my black and teal jumpsuit. It was designed specifically for capsuleers and was easy to get in and out of between dives into the pod goo. I put it on, went to the docks and boarded Nosuri. Lonetrek Exploration

Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system – Planet VI
Caldari Navy Assembly Plant Station

9 March YC 127

For the last few days Aura was badgering me about Guristas data sites in hi-sec. For some reason, she couldn’t get the datacores, or rather a lack thereof, out of her mind. If she were any old navigational AI, I would have sent her to the repair shop. But since it was my Aura…

I sighed and gave up, “Okay what exactly do you want me to do?” Continue reading “Lonetrek Exploration”

Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation

Mining Base
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Nourvukaiken system

3 March YC 127

“Look what we’ve got here,” I said, having finished scanning Nourvukaiken system. “There are two sites which I have never seen before. Which one shall we visit first?”

The probe scanner revealed Local Guristas Production Installation and Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation.

“Since we are flying a Buzzard, I would suggest to go to the Guristas place first,” replied Aura.

I looked at Aura with surprise, “Don’t good manners, to say nothing about common sense, dictate that one should fly a combat ship when visiting a den of pirates?” Continue reading “Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation”

Superior Sleeper Cache

Solray Infrared Alignment Unit
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Nourvukaiken system

25 December YC 126

Patrolling Okela constellation, I came across a cosmic signature with a very low signal strength in Nourvukaiken. When my probe constellation was down to 0.5 AU and still I could not identify it, I knew it had to be a sleeper cache. Sleepers had storage depots all over New Eden but the emissions from their installations were so low that it took advanced skills and equipment to pinpoint their location, which I had. The smallest 0.25-AU standard pinpoint formation revealed the cache to be of Superior variety.

I whistled, “What do you think, Aura? Is it our lucky day or are we about to lose the ship?”

Aura shrugged, “May be both. Wanna try extracting all that juicy blue loot?” Continue reading “Superior Sleeper Cache”

Limited Sleeper Cache – Second Attempt

Limited Sleeper Cache Site
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Iidoken system

16 December YC 126

Today, instead of asking Purkkoken for a mission, I decided to do another Okela constellation patrol. I started in a Buzzard and jumped from star to star scanning the signatures. In Jouvulen (again!) I found a Lesser Guristas Covert Research Facility and nearly lost my ship there. I hacked a Lab container which yielded less than 3,000,000 ISK, and was considering hacking another one when guards appeared! Luckily, my reflexes and align time were good enough to escape unscathed.

I then proceeded through other systems in the constellation until I reached Iidoken. There were two cosmic signatures, one of which appeared to be a Limited Sleeper Cache. The second one was extremely hard to scan down. I had to manually joggle the probes into a tighter formation, and when the signal strength finally reached 100% I discovered that it was a Superior Sleeper Cache! Okela Cleanup – Part 1

Pithi Wrecker
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system – Planet VI
Caldari Navy Assembly Plant Station

11 December YC 126

Purkkoken was interrogating the latest group of prisoners saved from The Seven and didn’t have any missions for me. I got bored and went to the docks where I boarded my Buzzard.

“Good morning, Captain,” Aura greeted me, “What’s the plan?”

“No mission so far but I have an idea. During our travels through this constellation I saw a lot of signatures and anomalies which I left alone as I had other priorities. Today, however, I’d like to take a closer look, and poke my nose or gun into them.”

“Nosuri doesn’t have a gun,” reminded Aura. Continue reading “Okela Cleanup – Part 1”

Winter Nexus

Snowballed Kryos
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system – Planet VI
Caldari Navy Assembly Plant Station

5 December YC 126

I unloaded the rescued prisoners at the Assembly Plan and didn’t expect any new missions from Purkkoken until he took his time to interrogate them.

“Aura,” I said, “can you take a look at that Winter Nexus do organised by the Institute?”

“I have already done that!” she answered brightly.

I should have expected it.

“And?” Continue reading “Winter Nexus”

The Elder War Tour – Mekhios Graveyard

Empress Jamyl I: Sword of the Righteous
Domain Region – Maddam Constellation
Sarum Prime System – Mekhios Graveyard

12 October YC 123

Our first stop in the Elder War Tour was Mekhios Graveyard in Sarum Prime system. The place was awestriking. Bathed in golden rays of Sarum Prime sun, the regal Amarr colour, and filled with wrecks of Minmatar Elder Fleet, it was dominated by an enormous statue of Empress Jamyl I between whose outstretched arms fit a life-size holographic projection of Amarr fleet that participated in the battle. As we approached the statue, the local radio channel started transmitting celestial music which reached to your soul and made you feel an insignificant sand grain in the endless universe whose fate was decided by the giants, like Empress Jamyl.

After what seemed a long, long time, I awakened from my reverie with a start caused by lack of oxygen in my blood – I realised that I was holding my breath all that time. The return to reality was completed when I heard Aura ask me in a rather bored voice, “So what actually happened here?” Continue reading “The Elder War Tour – Mekhios Graveyard”

Stubborn Dwarf Test Results

Region B-R00007 – Constellation B-C00057
System J104515

22 September YC 123

I have finished scanning the last signature in the system – it turned out to be another wormhole – and cheered.

“What are you so happy about?” asked Aura. “This is the second system that we have tried to explore today and it is as empty as the first one – no relic sites, no data sites, no nothing!”

“You are wrong – it’s not a second system, it’s fiftieth. And this is exactly why I am so happy.”

Aura frowned, “Fiftieth from what?” Continue reading “Stubborn Dwarf Test Results”

Choosing My Poison

Region Region G-R00031 – Constellation G-C00324
Thera System

17 May YC 123

It started like another day on the tools.  I woke up in the comfortable bed in my Buzzard, took a shower, had a breakfast, and then went to the capsule and submerged myself in the pod goo. The corp mates, as always, did a great job keeping Thera map up to date and there were only a couple of unexplored signatures. I quickly added them to TripWire – one was a high-sec connection and another was a relic site; not very interesting for exploration as I don’t hack sites in Thera. I then checked the existing connections and found one leading to a C1 system. It still had 3 hours of life in it, so why not, thought I and dived through. Continue reading “Choosing My Poison”
