Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation

Mining Base
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Nourvukaiken system

3 March YC 127

“Look what we’ve got here,” I said, having finished scanning Nourvukaiken system. “There are two sites which I have never seen before. Which one shall we visit first?”

The probe scanner revealed Local Guristas Production Installation and Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation.

“Since we are flying a Buzzard, I would suggest to go to the Guristas place first,” replied Aura.

I looked at Aura with surprise, “Don’t good manners, to say nothing about common sense, dictate that one should fly a combat ship when visiting a den of pirates?” Continue reading “Rogue Drone Asteroid Infestation”

Guristas Forsaken Hideaway

Dire Pithi Plunderer
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation

17 February YC 127

After the drama and emotional turmoil of Damsel in Distress mission I wanted a simple fight where the only baseliners’ lives on the line were those of the pirates. Patrolling Okela constellation fitted the bill perfectly. I undocked from Caldari Navy Assembly Plant in Tsuguwa in my Buzzard and scanned the system. There were a couple of pirate bases called Guristas Forlorn Hideaway which I had not seen before.

“Hey, Aura,” I said, “What do we know about those Forlorn Hideaways?” Continue reading “Guristas Forsaken Hideaway”

Trap?

Merimetso
The Forge region – Ruomo constellation
Ahtulaima system

31 January YC 127

The system whither the Blood Raiders were heading was Ahtulaima in The Forge region.

“It’s a long way from Amarr,” I mused while jumping through the gates, “What would Blood Raiders do in a quiet cul-de-sac in the middle of Caldari space? And if it’s a trap, why do they think anyone will be interested in pursuing them while we have our hands full with Guristas?”

“Ask yourself,” snorted Aura, “you are the one chasing them.” Continue reading “Trap?”

Gurista Lookout

Pithior Supremacist
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Nourvukaiken system

31 January YC 127

I was patrolling Okela constellation when my probe scanner revealed a Guristas base which I had not encountered before – Gurista Lookout.

I scowled and said, “These guys have no business squatting in my constellation and I am keen to kick them out but the question is: Do I need a destroyer or do I need a dreadnought?”

Aura raised an eyebrow, “Your constellation?” Continue reading “Gurista Lookout”

Sooth Sayer

Pithi Destructor
The Forge region – Ihilakken constellation
Outuni system

16 January YC 127

When I warped to the location of the FTL router in Outuni system I was greeted by three frigates and three destroyers of Guristas persuasion guarding an acceleration gate.

“Where is that router?” I wondered, “There are no structures here.”

“Maybe in the next pocket, or integrated into the acceleration gate,” suggested Aura. “Does it matter?”

“For the moment,” I replied, noticing yellow boxes lighting up around red triangles on my overview, “no.” Continue reading “Sooth Sayer”

Gurista Hideout

Pithior Renegade
Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system – Planet VI
Caldari Navy Assembly Plant Station

16 January YC 127

Following Aura’s suggestion to ‘buy more tickets’, I boarded the Buzzard and undocked in search of pirate bases – that riff-raff requiring periodic pest control anyway. The first ‘ticket’ revealed itself right on my doorstep in Tsuguwa – cosmic signature YVD-57 turned out to be a Gurista Hideout base.

“Why is it Gurista Hideout, and not Guristas Hideout? Is it just for one pirate,” I asked, amused at the classification. Continue reading “Gurista Hideout”

Eighth Tier Overseer’s Personal Effects

Lonetrek region – Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system – Planet VI
Caldari Navy Assembly Plant Station

16 January YC 127

For the last week or so something was nagging me at the back of my mind. I couldn’t put a finger on it until today, when I browsed the contents of my cargo hangar. There it was – 8th Tier Overseer’s Personal Effects (OPE). After destroying Radiating Telescope at Guristas Scout Outpost, I discovered a bunch of Pithum C-Type modules which cost a small fortune. The overseer’s personal effects were found in the remains of the telescope too but, as you can imagine, they were just a sideshow at that time. Now that my excitement about getting richer by half a billion ISK subsided, I remembered a curious case of 7th Tier OPE which I extracted from a Guristas Frigate wreck some time ago. The effects contained an intact datapad which required an ID and a key for access. I didn’t find a key last time but I wondered if I would be lucky today. In fact, I also got another set of 7th Tier OPE from the Outpost so my chances of finding something interesting doubled. Continue reading “Eighth Tier Overseer’s Personal Effects”

Guristas Scout Outpost

Radiating Telescope
The Citadel region — Suon constellation
Inari system

6 January YC 127

It took us seven jumps to reach Inari system, and we warped to the location pinpointed by the scanner. As soon as we arrived, Neocom informed us that we had found Guristas Scout Outpost rated 4/10 by DED.

“Uh-oh!” said Aura after researching the base on GalNet, “This will be a step-up from Guristas Guerilla Grounds – not so many frigates but multiple cruisers with target jammers. A worthy replacement for Guristas Watch, if you are still keen to test your buffer tank.” Continue reading “Guristas Scout Outpost”

Guristas Refuge

Pithi Invader
Lonetrek region — Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system

6 January YC 127

The probe scanner showed an anomaly which was not there when I first scanned down Guristas Watch; it indicated a presence of Guristas Refuge base in the system.

“Is it as well-guarded as the Watch?” I asked Aura.

Aura did a quick research and replied, “It doesn’t have a DED rating but Eve Uni rates it as tier 3. According to the academics, we shouldn’t expect swarms of frigates or anything stronger than a destroyer. Not a Watch, but a good opportunity to test our new fit.”

I nodded, “Good idea,” and warped to the Guristas Refuge location. Continue reading “Guristas Refuge”

Guristas Watch

Lonetrek region — Okela constellation
Tsuguwa system

6 January YC 127

After bidding the bitter-sweet farewell to Purkkoken I was in no rush to get a new mission from Caldari Navy. Although there was a grain of truth in what he said about the inadequate mission briefs, I felt that he was treated too harshly. On the other hand, if that failing was seen as a reason for the escalating tension between Caldari and Gallente, Purkkoken’s superiors had no choice but to take some disciplinary action. I wanted my contradictory emotions to settle before I would approach a Caldari Navy agent again.

When I shared my thoughts with Aura, she nodded and said, “By one measure, it’s actually a good thing that you have finished with level 1 missions. Have you checked your AIR career program lately?” Continue reading “Guristas Watch”
