“Good morning, Ms Voiras,” I said, walking into Level 2 agent’s office, “I was getting bored and thought that maybe you could provide some entertainment in a form of a security mission to me.”

Ozanero raised her eyes from the datapad and for a moment something like disappointment flickered on her face. The expression was gone in a heartbeat and was replaced with professional friendliness.

“Good morning, Mr Korff,” replied the agent, “let me check my backlog.”

She tapped the datapad a few times and stared at it for a few seconds as if it offended her. Then she swiped the screen with a nervous gesture and glared at it some more. That continued for a couple of minutes after which Ozanero irritably moved the datapad aside and mumbled under her breath, “To hell with politics. I’ve got job to do.” Continue reading “The Seven’s Brothel”

15 December YC 126

It took me three days to finally reach Purkkoken Honuken. He invited me to his office and, as soon as I came in, started talking about a new mission.

“Good day, Mr Korff. I have a very important mission for you. We’ve got reports of a Guristas patrol in this sector. Our surveillance reports they are scouts providing intel back to their leaders for a much larger raiding party. We cannot have them discover our weak points or gather any intel on our convoy travel routes. You’ll need to intercept the pirate patrol, Mr Korff.”

I was quite taken aback by that ‘Mr Korff’ formality, as we were on the first name terms for quite a while, but there was a more important question on my mind.

“And what about The Seven?” Continue reading “After the Seven – Finale”

12 December YC 126

Next day after my exciting Okela constellation patrol, I received a call from Purkkoken Honuken, asking me to see him in his office ‘at my earliest convenience’. I found the turn of phrase intriguing as with Purkkoken it was always ‘as soon as possible’. Curious to see what was up, I immediately went to his room in the security department.

“Ah, Vlad,” he greeted me with nonchalance which I found a bit strained. “I have a great mission for you.”

I made myself comfortable in the chair and nodded, “Go on.” Continue reading “After the Seven – Decision”

I thought that the engineers would need a few days to forge Phenod’s transponder, but Purkkoken Honuken gave me a call this morning asking if I was ready for the next mission in The Seven saga.

“You know what was in that sample bag that you brought to me yesterday?” asked Purkkoken when I entered his office.

I shuddered and said, “Phenod’s blood, I suppose.”

The agent made a dramatic pause, and blurted, “It was Quafe Red!” Continue reading “After the Seven – Ruse”

Violent Expulsion

19 November YC 126

For various reasons I took a break from capsuleering and spent more than two years away from the pod. One day, in November YC 126, I arranged a catch-up with a guy from my capsuleer test group. After failing the second test he enlisted in the Caldari Navy and was working his way up the military career ladder. His current posting was at Caldari Navy Assembly Plant in Tsuguwa system, and I was waiting for the end of his shift at one of the station pubs where we agreed to meet. I was standing at the bar waiting for the bartender to finish fixing a drink for a pretty redhead who was in front of me in the queue. To pass the time, I watched a holovid on the bar screen where valiant Captain Yamamoto was flying his Hawk frigate toward Astarte battlecruiser helmed by his arch-enemy Admiral Moreau. Blaster charges from the battlecruiser were swishing by while Yamamoto was rapidly closing the distance. At the sight of this profanity I couldn’t help exclaiming “What an idiot!” Continue reading “Violent Expulsion”
