My battle against Equilibrium of Mankind reminded me of the exciting times when I was the security agents’ go-to contractor. Feeling nostalgic, I half-hoped that Ozanero Voiras would call me again. She didn’t. I guess, initially she was busy handling the aftermath of EoM’s invasion in Airkio. Then, on the 12th September, CEP announced a successful completion of State Corridor campaign. The campaign participants started returning to their usual pursuits, and from then on Ozanero would have no shortage of contractors.

I was lounging in the Voidwatcher bar, thinking what to occupy myself with tomorrow. Nothing came to mind, except the same things I did today — holovids, kaatara, drinks… It was time to try something new. I sculled a glass of beer, stood up and went to my apartment.

Although I agreed to play Aura’s little tarot game, I was not in a rush to act on it. I spent two weeks continuing my leisurely lifestyle, all the while coming to terms with the necessity to undock and do something capsuleer-y. I had a lingering suspicion that Aura rigged the game and invented the easiest possible task just to get me out of the station. On the other hand, she had told me that cups meant high-sec before I drew the card. Hmm…

It happened on Friday evening. I was about to go to my favourite Voidwatcher bar when the monotony of my vegetable existence finally caught up with me. I looked at the club suit that I was going to wear, put it back into the wardrobe and reached for my black and teal jumpsuit. It was designed specifically for capsuleers and was easy to get in and out of between dives into the pod goo. I put it on, went to the docks and boarded Nosuri. I Predict Future

There was a shop of esoteric supplies in the station but it didn’t have an online shopfront. The shopkeeper, a middle-aged Achura man with a tattoo of an eye on his forehead, explained that it was important that the customers chose the goods personally so that they could feel a spiritual connection to the items. When I asked him for a classic deck of tarot cards, he produced several packs and told me to touch them and choose the one that resonated with me. I said that it was hard to feel ‘the resonance’ through the plastic wrapping and selected one at random. The shopkeeper expressed a hope that I would feel the connection when I removed the wrapping but warned me that unpacked decks were not refundable.
